A Pickle In A Poem
Although one could have bigger problems in life
it’s always the case
that two people
who you like very much
who have separate birthdays
will invariably
schedule their celebrations
in emails sent 2 hours apart, three weeks in advance
on the exact same night
at the exact same time
(on a date that is neither person’s birthday)
except one is in Park Slope
And the other
is on the Upper East Side
