This New Yorker illustration is brilliant. As is this line from Anthony Lane’s review, with respect to Charlotte’s husband: “For a movie about the need for real men—lusty, loyal, and loaded—this unusual earthling is truly a most peculiar advertisement for the gender.” Ha! Lane also articulates the reason why I hesitate to see the movie in theaters (and I feel that I must see it despite the fact that I find the concept stale and dated at this point): “The creepiest aspect of this sequence was the sound that rose from the audience as he displayed the finished closet: gasps, fluttering moans, and, beside me, two women applauding.” His verdict? “All the film lacks is a subtitle: “The Lying, the Bitch, and the Wardrobe.”” (And what does fair Manola think? “The movie that [Parker] and Mr. King have come up with is the pits … vulgar, shrill, deeply shallow.” Snap!)    Reblogged for the nightmare-fuel illustration. The cankles alone are a deep insult to Kristin Davis.
