I DONT CARE HOW GOOD OF A LEADER YOU ARE, WE NEED TERM LIMITS.
Aurora, we have term limits in NYC. Three terms. It used to be two. The City Council changed it to three. Don’t let anyone’s political blathering confuse those facts. The signal-to-noise ratio about this particular issue has been awfully low, even though it is true that Mayor Bloomberg has effectively prevented anyone else from serving the next term except himself.
i dont have a lot to say on this matter, because honestly i’m not gonna vote, and i really dont care THAT much, but trying to reverse term limits is a dick move, and im mortified by people that are OK with that as long as they like the guy.
I hate these kinds of people. These are the kinds of people that dont understand:
- Freedom of speech is for everyone, even for the KKK.
- Its not OK for the government to infringe on your right to privacy, even during “times of terror”
- I’m sure George Washington was a kick ass president, but there is a reason we established term limits. It wasnt to get rid of bad presidents. And HEY, Bush got elected twice. If there wasnt term limits you really think he couldn’t have gotten elected again?
I hate setting precedents like this. That kind of power goes to peoples fucking heads. I also think Bloomberg is a fucking Nazi and you guys are making a terrible mistake, but thats beside the point. We need term limits.
