Sure I'll Vote For Bloomberg
Been having this discussion for a couple of weeks now with various people, and the same conclusion seems to keep coming up for me… I find some things that he has done (or not done) regrettable, but I am a logical voter not an emotional one. Logic says that the city will be run best over the next 4 years if I pull the lever for Midget Mayor Mike. There is no Faustian bargain here; he has your best interests in mind just as much as Billy “The Machine” Thompson does, and both men are nearly as arrogant as one another (if you wish to consider your prospects for future mayoral persuasion).
If you are inclined to punish Bloomberg at the ballot box for issues which you did not directly address yourself in a constructive manner, at all, in the past eight years, I kindly ask that you drink a full glass of bleach. Sure, complain about unfair housing costs and unbridled love for developers (and a year of disappointing job losses created by the collapse of a Federally-regulated industry). What have you done about it, huh? You complained over brunch. Yay! Stay away from my government, thx.
