Michael Powell at the Times delivers a no-nonsense appraisal of the current “scandalous cost overrun” state of the WTC site and finds that where there’s smoke, there’s two loudmouth self-obsessed governors trying to start a fire. The article is well-structured and well-researched, and, most importantly, delivers the information that is most relevant to the public’s perspective. Apparently, Powell isn’t trying to make friends at either statehouse, so he feels free to skip the inside baseball and tell the truth. And it feels good.
